Bergeron Machine Shipping & Packaging Specialist Gets High Mark
Candidates for roles at Compass Precision operating companies don’t have to come with a lot of prerequisites if they are hard-working and quick learners. Even potential language barriers aren’t enough to deter Compass from hiring the right people
Bergeron Machine shipping & packaging specialist Marcia Araujo is Exhibit A. For her tremendous efforts over the past 21 months, Compass announced Tuesday it has named Marcia its first Employee of the Month for 2026.
“Honestly, I think the whole concept of ‘Employee of the Month’ was created with Marcia in mind,” explained Bergeron President Dave Giampa. “She came to us with little more than a desire to achieve. She has excelled at everything we have thrown at her, learns incredibly quickly, and keeps coming back asking for more things to do.”
Marcia is the seventh Bergeron employee to earn the Compass Employee of the Month award. Setup operator Enrique Betanzos is the most recent recipient of the honor at the operating company in August. Office manager Joey Sum also earned the award at Bergeron last year in January.
”An organization like ours is only as strong as its people make it,” said Bill Canning, Compass’s President & CEO. “Marcia has become an important contributor at Bergeron and we love it.”
When Marcia joined Bergeron in April 2024, she was not only new to machining and manufacturing but a novice at the English language. As a native to Brazil, Marcia’s first language is Portuguese.
But with tremendous support from Bergeron, Marcia has flourished in the company’s shipping and inventory department.
“I am grateful to Dave Giampa for trusting my potential and for giving me the opportunity to also contribute to packing and shipping,” Marcia wrote in an email. “Always learning something new.
“I would like to thank everyone who has supported my development, especially Joey, for his patience, support and continuous effort to communicate with me.”
Marcia started in the deburring department on the second shift. After two months, she joined the first shift in the shipping department.
On a day-to-day basis, Marcia is directly responsible for inventory management, packaging and shipping. She expressed she always tries to prepare Bergeron’s intricate parts early and in an organized, efficient fashion.
Marcia described the experience at the operating company as “incredible” and one that she wants to have for a long time.
“I’m very grateful,” she added. “I hope to continue contributing to the team, doing quality work and actively participating in Bergeron’s growth and ongoing changes.
“That brings me great satisfaction.”
In Brazil, Marcia’s education and professional background was in forestry. She worked as a Forestry Technician for six years.
Marcia immigrated to the United States in 2018.
“My move to the United States brought many challenges and learning experiences, but it also strengthened me,” Marcia said. “Today, I am grateful for my work, which motivates me every day and reinforces my confidence in a future of growth and new opportunities.”
In her free time, Marcia enjoys watching K-dramas and reading books. She likes reading about personal development, management and business.
