Rick co-founded Tri-Tec along with Ray Motley and Mike Davison in 1997. The three partners, with Rick serving in the lead role, successfully grew the company for nearly two decades until selling it to ZP Enterprises, LLC, who in turn sold it to Main Street Capital Holdings in October 2019. Throughout this time, Loyd has remained Tri-Tec’s President. He continues to oversee every aspect of the company’s operation.
Brad Howard, Lead CNC Machinist
Brad began his career with a tool and die grinding apprenticeship program in Northeast Ohio and moved to North Carolina two years prior to joining Tri-Tec. Brad became part of the Tri-Tec team in 2006 as a CNC Machinist. After serving as CNC Machinist for a decade he rose to production manager in 2016. In 2020, Brad decided his love for hands-on-work, creating the products is where he prefers to be. Brad is now our Lead Machinist helping with programming and employee CNC machine training.
Jennifer Langford, Office Manager
Jennifer joined Tri-Tec in August 2019 as office manager. She oversees the company’s accounting and human resource functions. Previously, Jennifer worked in the law and finance industries coming to us with experience in office, human resources and operations management. Jennifer has a MBA in Operations Management and a BA in Finance. In her spare time, she runs a non-profit named the Carolina Tarwheel’s Adaptive Rehabilitation Program, which offers wheelchair and adaptive sports to the greater Charlotte physically disabled community.
Dennis Jenkins, Production Coordinator
Dennis became part of the Tri-Tec team in 2017 as a CNC machinist. With a positive outlook and a whatever it takes attitude, Dennis quickly elevated to a management role. As of April 1, 2020, he was promoted to production coordinator where he is responsible for overall shop management and production. Dennis started his career in 2010 in the automative industry as a diesel technician and finished as a service manager before joining the Tri-Tec team. In his spare time, Dennis enjoys building engines, working on cars and enjoying time with his family and friends.
Gary Holcomb, CEO
Gary serves as CEO of Tri-Tec as well as its sister companies Quality Products & Machine, LLC and Advanced Machining & Tooling, LLC, along with their parent company, Compass Precision, LLC. He joined these organizations in October 2019 in conjunction with their acquisition by Main Street Capital Holdings, a Pittsburgh-based private equity firm. Gary previously was CEO of Coining, Inc; President & CEO of Dawar Technologies, Inc; Vice President & General Manager of Fisher Scientific Company’s Lab Equipment Division; and General Manager of Dynamet Inc’s Forged Products Division. He graduated from Cornell University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and has an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Paul Wilhelm, Vice President & CFO
Paul joined Compass Precision, LLC, Tri-Tec’s parent, in February of 2020 as Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. Like Gary, he has a strong CNC machining industry background. Paul worked for Paragon Metals from 2016 through early 2020, most recently as the firms’ Chief Financial Officer. Paragon machines tight-tolerance, precision-engineered metal components for the automotive industry.
Previously, he served in various accounting and finance roles for several other Charlotte-area manufacturing companies including IntraPac International, a speciality packaging company manufacturing plastic, laminate, tin and aluminum products. Paul has a BS in Business Administration and an MS in accounting, both from Georgia Southern University.
